How do I make a call?
To make a call to a number on-campus, lift the handset and dial the four-digit extension of the person you are calling.
To make a call to a local number off-campus, lift the handset, dial 9 to get an outside line, then dial the area code and number of the person you are calling.
To make a call to a long-distance number, you must have a BTI code. Lift the handset, dial 9 to get an outside number, then dial 1, area code and number of the person you are calling. The phone will beep twice. Enter your BTI code, and the call will go through.
In every case, if you have programmed a speed-call key (see below), you may use that key instead of dialing the number. If you have a BTI code, you may program that into a speed-call key. However, make sure you set the number to "private" when you program the key; otherwise, anyone can call up the number and use your code.
