Overview of IT Services

Information Technology (IT) provides a number of computing facilities and services to Belmont Abbey College students, staff, and faculty. To highlight just a few of those services:

  • Powercampus, the administrative database used to keep track of BAC's business functions
  • Powercampus web interface (IQ Web)
  • Raiser's Edge institutional development system
  • Blackbaud accounting system
  • PowerFAIDS student aid system
  • EDE student aid system
  • Fin2Bus system to move information from financial aid to the student billing system
  • Telemarketing database and support systems
  • Telephone system for all students, administrators, faculty and staff
  • Student access to nearly 75 computers in five computer labs
  • Faculty and Student access to 11 multimedia classrooms
  • Maintenance and upkeep of nearly 350 workstations on campus
  • Administrative E-Mail System
  • Student E-mail System
  • Internet Security controlled by two firewalls
  • Antivirus protection of all networked systems on campus

The following services are not handled by IT:

  • Student Internet access in the dorms
  • College web site
