Student Residential Information
Residential Internet Access
All resident students have access to high-speed wireless internet in their rooms, provided by the Belmont Abbey IT department.
List of wireless networks available to Students
Each device connected to the Residential Wireless Network is isolated and can only access the internet. This isolation prevents local network connections between devices. As a result, Wi-Fi-enabled printers cannot connect directly to the wireless network; they must be connected to your laptop via cable or Bluetooth. Students can connect multiple devices to the Residential Wireless Network, but please note that wireless game consoles (such as Xbox and PlayStation) will experience similar limitations. Both computers and game consoles will only have internet access and will not be able to detect or communicate with other devices on the BAC Residential Network.
Personal Routers
Personal routers or switches are not permitted. If a router or switch is connected, the IT department may disable internet access for the affected port.
Cable TV
Belmont Abbey College no longer provides cable TV service in residence halls.
